Building Restoration, Hertford NC
Other Work
This is a historic building I restored in Hertford, NC which was first built in 1911. Originally it was the town grocery and dry goods store. Its internal historic features were in great disrepair, and the facade needed a complete makeover.
I designed and built the facade with a trim schedule that reflects the traditional look of the period but with a fresh modern twist. The tin ceiling and cornices were completely restored and I trimmed the interior support posts to echo the facade. I also designed the custom windows in the rear of the building.
Today it stands as a proud part of the community serving as the Perquimans County Arts Gallery.
